First of all,

  • the administration needs to believe firmly in the curriculum they have chosen for their school, I know this sounds silly, BUT you would be amazed at how many administrators care nothing about education!!!
  • secondly, they need to treat their staff well and professionally (it is amazing how many schools don’t do this!!) -this also applies to the accommodation provided, if single teachers are requested to share apartments etc etc
  • thirdly, they should have an international outlook for the school.

Also, when you are at an international school overseas, there are three key things that are important in your life. Check out this page for my view on what constitutes your happiness overseas – feel free to disagree.
